Biography
Adam Adamyan, born in Armenia, is a contemporary artist known for his expressive portraits and distinctive street art. Raised by ballet dancer parents, Adam began his artistic journey at an early age, creating vivid drawings that adorned the walls of his bedroom. He studied at the Kapan Art School and later graduated from Panos Terlemezian Yerevan State College of Fine Arts.
Adamyan’s work explores deeply personal emotions through distorted forms and strange characters. “I never talk about my feelings,” he shares. “I mock emotions like anger and sadness, turning them into subjects of my art.” This unique approach emerged as a reaction to his frustration with academic art techniques, which initially led him to take a break from painting. However, upon returning to painting, particularly through portraits, Adam developed a style that conveys intense emotions and bold experimentation.
For his paintings, Adam prefers acrylic paints because they dry quickly, allowing him to capture his emotions in the moment they arise.
