Stephany Sanossian, an artist with a design background, is celebrated for her captivating pop art installations exploring identity, colours, and mosaics. Hailing from Dubai’s dynamic art scene, she seamlessly blends Middle Eastern and Armenian art with contemporary flair, bridging tradition and innovation.
With a Masters degree in Research for Design and Innovation from Elisava, Barcelona, her artistic journey draws from cherished childhood memories of Syria, infusing her work with nostalgia and profound insights. Sanossian’s collages merge pop culture icons, local heritage landmarks and expansive skylines with Damascene mosaic patterns, prompting viewers to rethink their perspectives.
Sanossian’s installations mirror societal transitions, capturing a culture in constant flux. Through her work, she challenges conventional artistic boundaries, blending contemporary pop culture with the deep-rooted spirit of Middle Eastern heritage.
Her creative journey revolves around decluttering memories, a process of releasing our grip on the past. Drawing inspiration from the enduring resilience of Armenian communities in preserving their heritage, Sanossian finds the strength to perpetuate traditions and broaden horizons for diverse audiences.
