Sarko Meené, an Armenian multidisciplinary artist, channels themes of joy, innocence and the pure essence of human nature in her work. Utilising mixed media like altered metal mesh as stretched canvases, she employs abstraction and metaphor to portray her conception of life both from the most superficial side to the deepest.
Influenced by her 16-year long professional tennis career, Meené approaches art with competitiveness and drive, creating new bodies of work for all her shows. Her love for freedom has earned her recognition, with her story featured in Australian writer Nina Karnikowski’s book “Make a Living Living,” published in 2020 and translated into eight languages.
Having previously showcased in New York, Miami (Scope), Los Angeles, Armenia, Dilijan, Gyumri, Dubai, Moscow, Berlin and Venice Sarko is steadily (and beautifully) advancing in her career. Sarko lived and studied in the United States for nearly a decade, and currently resides in different countries, finding her inspiration in travel, nature, and personal stories, which infuse her vibrant creations with colour explosions and thoughtful layers.
Through her art, she aims to capture the beauty, light, and vitality of life, inviting viewers to discover the subtleties woven into each piece with a pure heart.
